MV Dhamma Fellowship Outreach Programme partner Lions Befrienders visited senior citizens at Eunos Crescent on the 1st Sunday of each month. Volunteers visited selected homes at 1 pm to lend a listening ear to these lonely senior residents who are at risk of social isolation and, also help to monitor the well-being of frail seniors and advise Lions Befrienders of any unusual events that warrant attention.
In addition the Outreach Programme brought cheers and joys them to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Mid-Autumn Moon Cake Festival . Goodie bags of festival items and basic necessities like dried provisions and essential toiletries were included. Token of cash in red packets “ang pow” for the Lunar New Year for each household member of the selected family.
During the last visit on July 24th volunteer Sister Susan Lee went beyond visiting the elder citizens to give a listening ear. She rendered free service in hair dressing to trim the hair of the residents.
The joy of the residents expressed in their smile is beyond description and so is Sister Susan Lee.
MV Dhamma Fellowship Outreach Programme welcomes volunteers to reach out to these senior citizens. For those who are eager to lend a helping hand may contact Sister Seow Eng viz: – email@example.com .
