MVDF Outreach Programme – bringing CNY joy to senior citizens of Eunos Crescent

One of the major events of MVDF Outreach programme is to bring joy and happiness during the Chinese New Year festive to three families of senior folks consisting of eight members residing at Block 2 and 12; the other being the Moon Cake festive.

This year Chinese New Year falls on 8th and 9th of February and we brought joy to them on 31st January 2016.

Each family member received a hongbao with cash of $50 and each family received a goody bag filled with one carton of chicken essences (half dozen); 2 tubes of toothpaste; 1 packet of 3-1-1 beverage Milo in sachets; 1 packet of 3-1-1 beverage of Nestle white coffee in sachets;  1 packet each of AntiCo milk powder with Omega Plus, 10-grain cereal porridge, instant oat and peanut, 1 bottle of cashew cookies and 1 tin each of mixed biscuits and “Love Letters”.

The Buddha said that when you give a hungry person food you give them more than just a material substance, you give them all the things that food imparts – life, beauty, satisfaction, strength and intelligence (A.lll,42).

Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!
